JUAN ANTONIO MOMPO PLA
The Mompó family wine business starts with Juan Antonio Mompó Plà in the middle of XIX century.
During those years Europe was attacked by filoxera vine pest which destroyed completely wine production in most of France, Germany, Italy and other neighbouring countries. So Juan Antonio grasps the opportunity and starts a flourishing wine export business, that made him a fortune.
It was said that the sand from the beach will protect the vines from the pest so he transform his donkey trade business into a sand transportation venture, exchanging the sand for wine and reselling it to european traders with great profits.
His abilities in trade helped him develop the existing business into one of the most important companies in Spain at that time, exporting and creating job ventures in Cuba, Argentina, Japan, Philippines and China.

Luis Mompó Soriano his son continues the company, maintaining its international relevance in the difficult war and postwar periods.
JUAN ANTONIO MOMPÓ OCHOA
Juan Antonio Mompó Ochoa the founder’s grandson not only makes the company the Spanish leader in the wine export business, but also founds the Spanish Wine Federation, helding the president position for 40 years.
He also held the charge of vice-president of Valencia’s Chamber of Commerce, he was also elected as president of the Valencia Port, which thanks to his hard work and dedication became the most important port in the mediterranean.
JUAN ANTONIO MOMPÓ GIMENO
Juan Antonio Mompó Gimeno the great grandson, starts his career in Allied Domecq the second biggest alcoholic corporation in the world, and after by Pernod Ricard group, actual number two in the world.
He held the CEO position at the Pernod Ricard group Spain from 2004 to 2009 deciding later to go back to his roots and come back to the family business.

Juan Antonio Mompo Palacio started his career in the wine industry in China, working in the wine industry for several companies and institutions for 13 years. Until he, like his father and the prodigal son, returns to the family business.
